The presented configuration is an example. The Hardware configuration of a BEST system is customizable based on the customers needs.

			Check Scanning Option #1 - Digital Check TS-220 reader scans Checks MICR and both Front-side and Backside color images of checks in a single pass. If desired, it requires a separate Magnetic Swipe Reader. * Note: All Check readers are custom built for and must be purchased through BEST Inc.
			Check Scanning Option #2 - MagTek EXCELLA reader scans Checks MICR and both Front-side and Backside images of checks in a single pass. Has a built in Magnetic Stripe Reader for reading the government IDs. Can take a picture of the ID and it has two print heads integrated to the device. * Note: All Check readers are custom built for and must be purchased through BEST Inc.
			Check Scanning Option #3 - MagTek MICRIMAGE reader scans Checks MICR and Front-side image of checks in a single pass. Can be equipped with a built-in optional MagStripe Swipe Card Reader used for ATM debit cards and some State ID cards. * Note: All Check readers are custom built for and must be purchased through BEST Inc.
			Check Scanning Option #4 - MagTek Mini-MICR Plus reader scans Checks MICR and is equipped with a built-in optional MagStripe Swipe Card Reader used for ATM debit cards and some State issued ID cards. * Note: All Check readers are custom built for and must be purchased through BEST Inc.
			Video Camera - used for capturing customer image at the time of enrollment and each and every time a Check is cashed at the teller window.
			BAC Fingerprint Scanner – A USB device used for enrollment and verification of Customers by electronic fingerprint comparison. * Note: Price includes Special Software Interface License
			Citizen's CBM-1000 receipt printer is perfect for any point of sale environment. Equipped with a spill-proof top, drop-and-load paper features, and flash memory, it also features flash memory, an automatic paper cutter, ESC/POS emulation compatibility, a two-drawer kick-out and a power supply option. Best of all, it's compact and lightweight.
			MagTek Mini Swipe Reader, required for reading ATM debit cards, and some State issued ID cards. USB Keyboard Emulation Mini Swipe Reader Tracks 1, 2 & 3 White or Black
			Model 200 Reader - This unit is used to read State Issued ID cards that utilize a 2D-PDF 417 Barcode for verification and enrollment of new customers, as well as for searching existing customers in the system. The Model 200 attaches to any host terminal via a standard RS-232 interface. The ID card is simply inserted in the Model 200, which reads & decodes the PDF-417 barcode can transfers the data to the CEMS Check Cashing System for calculations and display
			Model 250 Reader - incorporates a magnetic stripe reader with the 2D barcode reading technology of the Model 200. The Model 250 can read any government issued ID card with magnetic stripe information and/or 2D barcodes. This creates a single device for reading virtually all government issued ID's. The data is also transferred to the host device via RS-232. This approach to scanning both MagStripe and 2D information with one device is an ideal solution for the POS environment
			Report Printer - Laser Printer used for printing various daily, weekly, monthly reports, as well as Customer picture, Check Images, and transactional images for processing various requirements.
			Oki-Data 320 Turbo Printer - Impact Form Printer used for printing of Money Orders.
			Color Plastic ID Card Printer - Used for creating professional instant issued ID cards, with optional MagStripe encoding, Smart Card Programmer, and Duplex single pass Printing.
			Color ID Scanner – is used for scanning pictures of Customer ID cards and saving that image with the customer’s record in the CEMS Check Cashing Database. The reader is a USB device and can be licensed with an optional OCR engine that can automatically decode 2D-PDF-417 Barcode, along with OCR capture of ID data directly into the Customer database (coming early summer 2004). Maximum Document/Photo Size: 4" x 5" (4.13" x 5.83"), A6 (105mm x 148mm).
			APC 1000 VA UPS - is used for protecting valuable hardware and data at each location. Various models are available and based on the power requirements and deployment of other attached hardware the actual unit may vary. Feature of UPS include: Audible Alarms, Automatic Self Test, Automatic Shutdown, Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), Building wiring fault indicator, Cold-start, Easy Overload Recovery, Hot Swap Batteries, Intelligent Battery Management, Internet FAX - modem - DSL surge protection, Lightning and Surge Protection, Overload Indicator, PC and Mac Compatible, Replace Battery Indicator, Re-settable circuit breaker, Software, Status Indicator LED's, Transformer Block Spacing, Unattended Safe & Graceful Shutdown, USB Connectivity, User Replaceable batteries are just some of the main features.
			NETGEAR Model FVS318 VPN Cable / DSL Router, Network Switch, Firewall - is used in establishing a Virtual Private Network designed for allowing branch locations to share in real-time information with the main office server, and each-other, as well as being able to connect to the BEST Central Shared Database for both Customer, and Maker verification. Initiates up to 8 IPSec VPN tunnels simultaneously Stateful Packet Inspection Firewall with VPN pass-through and routing Eight ultra-fast 10/100 Mbps LAN ports Securely connects mobile workforce and branch offices to main office resources Easy-to-use Web browser-based setup, configuration and remote management.
			Bar-Code Scanner (2D or 1D)- used for scanning various bar-codes mainly used in retail locations for tracking inventory and merchandise sales. Also used with CEMS optional Vouchers Module
			Cash Dispensing Safe – used for automating Cash Dispensing at Teller Level. Possibly may eliminate the need for special Bullet-Proof Kiosks in Check Cashing environment. Various Makes and Models available, with multiple options that can be customized for each installation
			Electronic Cash Drawer - can be controlled by the system and will automatically open every time the cashier finishes a transaction.
			LCD and Touch Screen Monitors - used to save space on the counter. The software supports a touch screen displays.





			Typical Teller Workstation – is shown with optional Travelers Delta Money Order Machine, which is one of the two major brand providers. Supported but not pictured is Western Union Money Order Machine. The base computer system can be customized for each location, whereas the Client may purchase the system directly from BEST Inc. and or their own vendor of choice such as Dell and Gateway computer suppliers
