Voucher Module

Some check cashers operate as the sole, exclusive casher of checks for a given company.  Such a company issues “vouchers” for their employees’ salaries.  While these resemble a check, they can only be cashed at one specific check casher (who gets paid directly from the maker instead of depositing the check).  Some check cashers (such as Convenience and Grocery stores) use Vouchers as promotional items to generate more business (i.e., as a means of giving discounts on future purchases at the location). Our VOUCHER Module works like our Check-Cashing Module, but keeps all voucher records separate.  It calculates your fees and keeps all financial records that you need to run a successful voucher operation. 

Signature Scanner

It’s vital to know that the checks you take in are endorsed by the proper party and in a way that matches the signature sample in your files.  With B.E.S.T., the addition of a scanner (via one of our check-readers or license- r device) will allow you to scan a customer’s signature right into the computer.  The signature will pop-up on the "Master" information screen for comparison every time the customer’s file is brought up for viewing.

MagTek & Digital Check-Scanners

The MAG-TEK Check-Scanner reads the ABA routing #, the account and check numbers from the magnetic ink imprints at the bottom of each check.  This speeds your handling of customers by automatically bringing up the Maker account information and popping-up the Check-Cashing window.  Any warnings you put in concerning that maker are activated.  If you put a “freeze” on the maker (i.e., marking it as "Bad"), the Teller will be prevented from cashing the check.  If the check has in actuality been created on a color photocopy machine, you will be warned of that.  It will also warn you if the check number is a duplicate of one you have already cashed, or if the check is one from a known group of stolen checks. Certain check readers we offer also have the capability of capturing IMAGES of the front and/or both sides of the check right into the computer as a check is scanned.

Safety Package And Equipment

In addition to the protections that come as part of our basic package, B.E.S.T. offers APC’s line of Smart-UPS Power and Telephone Line Protectors and Backup batteries.  This equipment protects your computers, printers and other peripherals from harm caused by most electrical surges or   “spikes”.  The backup battery lets your system operate when the voltage dips or there is a short power outage:  If the power drops too much, our package utilizes APL Network Shutdown software that closes your files while the system is still being supplied by power from the battery.  It then shuts the system down before the battery power is gone.  B.E.S.T. has other accessories which will make running a computer-operated store easier and safer
